Here is the story.
My son Charlie who turned 8 in July wanted an Electric Scooter. They are not cheap. They run around $150 to $200. So when his friends and family asked him what he wanted for his birthday he told them that he wanted a Walmart gift card so that he could get enough to buy this scooter. He REALLY wanted it. He was determined and told everyone. All the while why he was doing this I was doing my homework to try to find him the absolute best deal.
The kid down the street has one and I noticed it said 150 on the side. I learned that the 150 was the motor size. They come in sizes 100, 150, 200, 300 and 400. The 100 is recommended for little kids and the 400 for grown adults. The 100 goes about 7 miles. The 150 goes 10 miles and so on.
AT the time Target came out the a brand new Razor Electric Scooter that was a 175 motor size! What I was excited over this. Also, the price was unremarkable. The 150 razor runs about $150 dollars.
Target had the 175 razor for $123!!! SCORE!
So not only did we get a better motor, we also got a better motor for $26 cheaper than the regular price!
Let me tell you this!
It is worth every single cent. Every penny that went into this Electric scooter is worth it! It goes up to 12 miles per hour. It states on the box that it will only run for about 45 minutes. This is NOT true. He can ride it most of the day without it going dead. We plug it in and charge it overnight..and Voila it is ready for the morning scootin!!
$123.00 is A lot of money. But sometimes it is better to buy one Great gift then 10 not so great gifts! I highly recommend this if yo buy your children "Big Gifts" from Santa or yourself!
