THE MOM SCREAM

I look forward to my kids being off of school for Winter break. I am so happy when it gets here because it is an actual break for myself. (YEAH RIGHT!)
What I mean is....I Love not having to rush the nightly routine, homework, dinner, bath and playtime all before bedtime. There are just not enough hours in the day. The evenings can be hectic and you throw a couple of sports in there...well then it just turns crazy.  So I enjoy the crazy break.

That is until...DUM DUM DUM (you must sing that)

7 or 8 days in. They can't quit fighting. Over EVERYTHING. Stay our of my room. You are ugly, NO YOU ARE. I am SO BORED. I'm Telling. I'm Hungry. I AM TELLING. MOM!!!! HE DID IT, NO SHE DID IT!
ARGHHH>...that list goes on and on and on.
I don't really understand why they are arguing.
At this point I could throw a piece of paper on the floor and they would fight about who's it is or who wants it first.
I just want to scream. YEP. That made me feel better.
I screamed. Loudly. They just looked at me like I was crazy but it shut them up for 6 whole minutes!

I love my children dearly. 15, 10 and 8 and a mix of gender..I get a little bit of everything. I am so grateful for the time I get with them. I really am. Truly I do wish winter break was a little longer.

But truth is:

SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SCREAM!!!!!!

THAT'S ALL!

AND AS I AM FINISHING THIS UP, I CAN HEAR MY 10 AND 8 YEAR OLD GIGGLING. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GIGGLING ABOUT BUT NOW I FEEL A SLIGHT PANG OF OH NO.....MOM GUILT...I WANT TO SCREAM ONE SECOND AND HUG EM TIGHT THE NEXT.

ONE OF MY LAST MINUTE SECRETS. LOVE TO HEAR THEM GIGGLE WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW YOU ARE LISTENING!

NOW THAT'S ALL!

  1. I have only one child, so I generally miss all that arguing {THANK YOU!!} until her friends come over and they occasionally argue, lol!

However, I did grow up with siblings. It was no picnic! :D

  4. haha. my kids are to young for me to enjoy "winter break" yet because they aren't in school so everyday is a break for them. I do plan on starting to sort of home school my oldest once she turns two

  5. I know the feeling, but it isn't that they argue, but my son is on a set schedule when he is at school and when he is home he gets upset.. That is part of the Autism, they need to have that set schedule.. and now mom needs a vacation...LOL

  6. My daughter is an only child, so halfway during school vacations she'll try arguing with me or her dad!

  7. Sounds like you are a great mom! Enjoy your time with your kids--it's normal to have this mix of emotions. You are not alone!
